Sindh Government Announces the Launch of Pakistan’s First Exclusive Women’s Bus Service

The government of Sindh, Pakistan announced on Thursday that it will be launching pink buses, the first bus service in the country that will be exclusively for women. The service is set to start next month, with Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon stating in a tweet, “Inshallah Pink buses will start their operation from 1st February in Karachi.”

This move follows the Sindh government’s launch of Pakistan’s first electric bus service in Karachi last year. The service runs from Malir Cantt to Clock Tower Roundabout and Sea View Defence using Khayaban-e-Ittehad, and is also expected to stop at the airport. At the time of its launch, Minister Memon emphasized that the bus service was a gift for the people of Karachi and that similar projects will continue to be implemented in the future.
