Islamabad Implements Special Security Plan Due to Rising Concerns

The Islamabad police have implemented a special security plan due to rising security concerns. The plan includes the establishment of 25 temporary checkposts throughout the city and monitoring of the Red Zone area and metro service passengers through video recordings. The police have also requested that foreign nationals carry identification documents and have asked landlords to register tenants and employees at local police stations or service centers. The plan follows advisories from the US, UK, Saudi Arabia, and Australia warning their citizens in Pakistan about a potential terrorist attack at a five-star hotel in Islamabad. The alert was issued after a suicide bombing occurred near the police headquarters in the federal capital. Security in Islamabad has been increased since the attack
