Funding Opportunities for Masters and PhD Programs in Public Health

The University of Waterloo in Canada and the University of British Columbia in Canada offer fully funded Masters and PhD programs in Public Health. At the University of Waterloo, full-time MSc (thesis-based) students are guaranteed funding, which usually comes in the form of a Teaching Assistantship, Research Assistantship, or a major award. The Faculty of Health at the University of Waterloo also provides funding for four years to support new full-time domestic doctoral students as part of its PhD funding initiative, and students may also be eligible for additional scholarship and funding opportunities. The University of British Columbia has various funding opportunities available for graduate students, including the Canadian Institute of Health Research Graduate Scholarships, the IHSPR Rising Star Award, the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships, the International Development Research Centre Research Awards and Doctoral Research Awards, the Trudeau Foundation Doctoral Scholarships, the Killam Scholarship and Prize Programmes, the Fraser Basin Council Robert Caton Scholarship and the David Bates Scholarship, the Canadian Cancer Society Travel Allowance, the UNESCO-L’Oréal For Women in Science Canadian National Fellowships, the WorkSafe BC Research Training Awards, and the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research MSFHR Research Trainee Program
