China’s Yunnan Province Sponsors Successful Tree Planting Project in Pakistan

We are excited to announce that the “Go Green Pakistan, Yunnan Chapter” tree planting project, sponsored by China’s Yunnan province, has recently been completed along National Highway-5 (N-5) in southern Sindh, Pakistan. 5000 high temperature and drought resistant tree saplings have been planted in an effort to combat the challenges of climate change and increase green coverage in the area.

The project was made possible through the generous donations of the Yunnan People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the China Yunnan Sunny Road and Bridge Corporation, which is currently working on various infrastructure projects in Pakistan. The saplings have been planted along the central separator and interchange area of N-5, a key north-south traffic trunk road in Pakistan, and are expected to help ease water-soil losses and raise awareness of environmental protection among local residents.

The Chinese side will also be taking care of the saplings for the next year to ensure their survival and maximize the impact of the project. The “Go Green Pakistan, Yunnan Chapter” project has received high praise from Pakistan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Capital Development Authority (CDA), and the National Highway Authority (NHA). We are proud to be a part of this important initiative and look forward to the positive impact it will have on the environment and local community.
